Warner Bros boss on DC movies: “we can do a little bit better”

The head of Warner Bros admits that "there's a little room for improvement" on its DC movies this year...

In spite of the fact that Warner Bros has steered Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Suicide Squad to a combined $1.5bn at the global box office this year, it’s still been a slightly disappointing year for the new DC extended universe. Batman V Superman was expected to do $1bn of business alone, whilst both films have been on the receiving end of a critical battering, and mixed reactions from fans. Both films have their fans, certainly, but Warner Bros will have been looking at the glowing reviews and $1.15bn box office take of Marvel and Disney's Captain America: Civil War with some envy.
Warner Bros chairman and CEO Jeff Bewkes has given an update to shareholders in the company, and has admitted that the studio has work to do.
“We do think there’s a little room for improvement. We can do a little bit better on the creative”, he admitted.
